Ubisoft announced CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION Hard Evidence is available on store shelves for the Wii home video game system from Nintendo. This release marks the debut of the CSI franchise on the Wii system. Miami: 6.12 Spoilers...

A series of twists and turns really turns up the heat on this investigation.

According to CSI Files sources, "Miami Confidential" opens with Ryan driving up to a condominium in a cul-de-sac. There are patrol cars and crime scene tape, and he picks up his kit and heads for the front door. Once he signs in and puts booties over his shoes, he walks into the living room to meet Alexx, who is standing next to the body.

The woman, Rachel Hemming, was thrown backwards through a glass-top coffee table. Closer examination reveals that a wine glass that had been sitting on the table must have broken, the stem jabbing into her neck and killing her. Ryan puts up a fuming tent to try to get prints from the scene, but something goes wrong. An oscillating fan sparks, causing the tent to catch on fire, and Ryan and Alexx barely get out of the condo before there is an explosion.

Calleigh and Sgt Tripp survey the scene after the explosion. The fuming tent has melted to the victim's body, and she is covered with burns. Their evidence will most likely be compromised. Calleigh turns the body over and sees that Rachel's back, where it was pressed against the floor, was protected from the brunt of the fire and explosion. They might be able to get something after all.

Calleigh walks over to the cause of the explosion: a meth lab that was hidden from the rest of the living room by a partition that was destroyed by the blast. Card tables are turned over, and electric cook tops and glassware are strewn all over the floor. A spill in the lab caused chemicals to fuel the flames, but the fire had to get started somehow. She looks at the electrical outlet in the wall, which is charred.

Natalia examines the electrical panel. The circuit breakers were taped to prevent them from shutting off. The oscillating fan overloaded the circuit, and the power surge started the fire. Believing that the taped circuit breakers may have been part of an insurance scam, Ryan and Horatio question the landlord, Jeremy Broyles, but he says that he didn't know about the meth lab. He claims to have given Rachel privacy because she was a good tenant. Broyles has prior convictions in his record for drugs, but they need to prove that he was involved in this case.

In the morgue, Alexx is preparing to wash Rachel's body to begin her autopsy, and Eric comes in. He tells her that he is just in time--he wants to see if the fuming tent preserved any prints on her body before the fire started. He finds a print at the base of her neck. The print gets a hit in AFIS: Zach Hemming, Rachel's brother. Calleigh brings him in for questioning. He admits to coming down from Ohio to try to get Rachel to come home. She had run away several months earlier and he had finally tracked her down, but when she told him to leave, he claims that he went without a fight. Calleigh isn't convinced--why come all that way just to turn around at the first sign of resistance? She suggests that he might have pushed her to gain control, thus killing her accidentally, but he denies it.

A melted plastic box found on Rachel's body leads the team to a new conclusion: Rachel was a narc. They trace it back to Mike Farallon, the FBI agent that Natalia worked with in the past, who first appeared in "Chain Reaction" earlier this season. Mike says that he gave Rachel the chance to avoid jail time for possession with intent to distribute by getting him information. Could she have gotten too close and drawn the attention of the leader of the meth operation? Things become even more complicated when it is revealed that Rachel was hiding another secret: she was pregnant.

"Goodbye and Good luck"...

Jorja Fox's Sara Sidle leaves "CSI" Thursday night. No matter how you feel about that development, the episode is tremendous. All actors who depart long-running series should receive such heartfelt, memorable sendoffs.

The episode, titled "Goodbye & Good Luck," skillfully makes you feel Sara's disillusionment. She witnesses an eerie case of domestic abuse and remains strangely remote.

But the real crisis for Sara arrives with the return of Marlon West (Douglas Smith) and his genius little sister, Hannah (Juliette Goglia). Last time out, Marlon got away with murder with Hannah's help. This time he is implicated in a young woman's plunge from her dorm room.

In the previous case, Hannah got under Sara's skin. The show has brought back the little girl to needle Sara again. Goglia pulls off her task brilliantly.

As Sara seeks justice, the episode takes turns that are clever or harrowing. Can she finish the case?

The cinematography heightens the Sara's nightmarish estrangement. "CSI" has won fans as a smart procedural, but the show also can present the personal in vivid terms. Fox plays Sara's sadness with such wrenching and relatable feeling that this episode becomes an instant classic.

According to CSI Files sources, "Booty and the Beast" opens at the World Finals of Professional Bull Riders. The arena is filled to capacity for the opening ceremonies. The crowd cheers, young and old alike, as the lights go down and the pyrotechnics come alive. The most enthusiastic members of the audience are the Buckle Bunnies, groupies with their eyes on the cowboys.

Behind the scenes, flank men get the bulls ready. They herd the bulls from their pens into the chutes. Khartoum is the legend around here. Matt Dooley, a former rider in his forties, is in charge of the massive beast, guiding him into the chute. Khartoum's owner, Nancy Twicker, walks up and admires the bull. He's ready to buck tonight, she can see it in his eyes.

The cowboys take their turns and go for a ride, trying to stay on top of the bulls as they do their damndest to buck the men off. Some of the riders get thrown, but others manage to hold on. The crowd goes wild when they make it. The bullfighters, more commonly called "rodeo clowns", take charge of the bulls and lead them out of the ring, making way for the next rider to try his luck.

In the locker room, cowboys are coming and going. Some are getting ready for their rides while others are getting injuries looked at after their rides are over. Most of these men are in their twenties, early-thirties tops. Cody Prescott is in his late thirties and tries to hide a limp and chronic pain from years of being thrown. He heads out to the arena as Matt Dooley gets Khartoum ready for the ride. The announcer tells the crowd that Cody has to last the full eight seconds or he won't be in the finals. And if he doesn't make it tonight, it could be the last ride for the crowd favorite, the hero that stayed in the sport longer than most.

Cody is ready, and he gives the signal. Khartoum is out of the chute, bucking and trying to throw Cody off. The bull is successful within seconds, and Cody is on his back in the dirt. The bull twists around, still bucking, and slams one hoof down on Cody's neck. The crowd is horrified as the bullfighters get Khartoum out of the way and the medics rush in to help the fallen rider. Cody comes to and tries to get up against the medics' wishes. They try to stop him, but he's not having any of it, so they help him to his feet. The crowd cheers as he waves his hat in the air, being led out of the arena as the judges signal that there will be no re-ride. Cody is done for the night.

Grissom, Brass and Catherine come to the arena, but they aren't there to watch the bull riding. Cody Prescott's lifeless body is in the middle of the ring, a bottle of tequila nearby. It appears that Cody came back for one last ride, and Khartoum was too wild for him to handle. Doc Robbins looks at Cody's body in the morgue. An x-ray of Cody's neck from earlier shows that the first stomping from the bull caused a hairline fracture in one of his vertebra, right on the brain stem. He was a disaster waiting to happen. Now, in the morgue, David Phillips has taken a second x-ray, which reveals that the second stomping fractured the vertebrae completely. They have the cause of death, but is the manner of death as obvious as it seems?

Meanwhile, Nick and Greg investigate the death of Tiffany Garner. The woman was the victim of a hit and run, and the CSIs suspect that she might have been Cody Prescott's girlfriend. When they find Cody's truck, they confirm that it was the one that killed Tiffany. Did Cody kill her because she wanted to leave him? When a third dead body shows up, the team must figure out if the victim was connected to Cody and Tiffany. In the meantime, Warrick has been out of work for two weeks and joins the Cody Prescott case on his first shift back.

The above information comes from early script drafts and the details of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

"Booty and the Beast" is expected to air in early 2008.

In Part 1 of my interview with CSI boss lady Carol Mendelsohn, she swore that Grissom "will not have seen the last of Sara Sidle" after Jorja Fox departs next month. But what that statement doesn't address is the fact that by the time Sara returns, Grissom may already be gone. With contracts for the rest of the show's primary cast — William Petersen included — set to expire at the end of this season, he and other CSIers could follow Fox out the door. What does Mendelsohn have to say about that? Find out — and get the lowdown on who'll replace Grissom and Sara as the show's next super-couple — in this, the second part of our Q&A.

So, who'll fill the couple void left from Grissom-Sara?
Mendelsohn: The new couple may be [one who] sort of started last season that you may not suspect. We have someone who works in the lab and has an interest in another lab tech.

Ahhh… Hodges and Wendy. Interesting. There's been speculation about a possible Catherine-Warrick romance.
Mendelsohn: Clearly, among the team there's a lot of love. But it's kind of familial love. I think Grissom and Sara was a very, very special case.

So nothing's going to develop between Warrick and Catherine?
Mendelsohn: I'm not saying it's not. But that is a friendship that we developed from the beginning of the series. We don't sit in the writers' room and say, "What relationship are we gonna have now?" We were totally invested, all of us, in Grissom and Sara.

It's no secret that the contracts of the rest of your main cast will be expiring soon. Is it possible we may be losing more CSIs in the near future?
Mendelsohn: I suppose anything is possible, but I hope that doesn't happen. I think one of the strengths of CSI and one of the pleasures of doing this job is that we have all been together from the beginning. I would love for us to all continue to be together.

Do you know where things stand? I imagine talks have already begun.
Mendelsohn: As show-runners, we're responsible for the creative direction of the show; we are not responsible for contract negotiations.

Fair enough. Do you see CSI as the type of show that can weather major cast changes, as ER and Law & Order have?
Mendelsohn: Yes. I felt from day one of CSI that the show itself was a living, breathing entity, separate and apart from any of us.... The show is so strong that it could get along without any one of us. That means me or [fellow executive producer] Naren [Shankar] or any producer or writer or cast member. But Gil Grissom is the soul of the show. Gil Grissom is an incredible character. And, you know, it's hard…. I have difficulty thinking about CSI without Grissom and Catherine and Warrick and Nick. But I do believe that people love the show, too, and it could go on. But that doesn't mean it should or we want it to. It's weird. When a show goes on this long, some people start getting itchy feet and want to move on. And I think all of us realized that creatively — and this is separate and apart from anyone's personal decisions about wanting to try other things — we couldn't be more excited or more inspired to be working on this show. We're very lucky that way. Creatively, it's a good place. And I hope that means we'll all stay together.

Will Bill be taking another little mini-hiatus this season?
Mendelsohn: I anticipate as the series goes on, yes, he will want to do that, and we'll figure out a creative way for that to happen.

Any plans to extend Jessica Lucas' stay?
Mendelsohn: We haven't made that decision yet. I absolutely love Jessica, and I love the character of Ronnie Lake. We've got some great episodes with Ronnie coming up. I would say it's a pretty good bet there'll be a Ronnie in our future.

Boss Vows Jorja Fox Coming Back...

Now that Jorja Fox has officially confirmed the worst kept secret in the TV biz — she's ditching CSI next month after seven years in the forensics lab — we can start to focus on more important things in life. Like, you know, her return to the show! In her only interview, CSI's top gun, Carol Mendelsohn, weighs in on the circumstances surrounding Fox's exit, responds to published reports that she considered killing her off, previews tonight's big marriage proposal, and utters the words grieving fans have been dying to hear: Sara Sidle will be back.

Are you bummed that something couldn't be worked out to keep Jorja around?
Carol Mendelsohn: I am very bummed. You know, it's been something we've been facing for a while now [so] I've given it a lot of thought. When Jorja expressed her desire to move on — even though I would have loved nothing more than to have had her here for Season 8 and Season 9 and on — you [react] as you would in any family: You love the person and respect them and want them to be happy and fulfilled. If this was the very end for Sara Sidle on CSI, I don't think I could have handled the last few months. But it's not. Jorja was always No. 6 on our call sheet. We're retiring No. 6, so it's there for Jorja when she comes back.

She's definitely returning?
Mendelsohn: Yes. You can count on it.

This season?
Mendelsohn: That I can't say. But the fans will not have seen the last of Sara Sidle. Nor will Grissom.

Would you describe her departure as a mutual decision?
Mendelsohn: No. It was, in the end, Jorja's decision. And we accept it. I think sometimes the fans don't really understand that the writers are fans of the show, too. And we love Sara Sidle. We love writing for Sara Sidle. And, as an actor, it doesn't get better than Jorja. She's phenomenal. So, yeah, it's heartbreaking [for me], as well as for the cast and the crew. I'm almost tearing up now because it's very hard to say goodbye, even if it's [just] goodbye for now.

Did you know she was leaving before you shot the season finale last April?
Mendelsohn: Yes. I didn't have a definitive date, but yes.

There were reports that the original plan was to kill her off in the finale, but Jorja refused to show up to work and shoot her death scene. Is that true?
Mendelsohn: No… I don't, as a fan or a writer, embrace killing off characters — especially when you see this outpouring that we have gotten from the fans in support of keeping Jorja and Sara on the show; it has just been mind-boggling. [We] owe the fans so much and I don't think killing off Sara Sidle would have ever been a way to pay a satisfactory ending for Sara.

So what kind of send-off are you giving her?
Mendelsohn: I’m not telling you. [Laughs]

C'mon.
Mendelsohn: As the season unfolds through November, there is a character arc threaded through the episodes for Sara Sidle. And it is something that will build and build and build until the episode in which she departs, sometime in November.

Can you shed any light on the final scene, like who's in it with her?
Mendelsohn: Jorja is in it with Jorja.

She's by herself?
Mendelsohn: Yes.

What do you make of the intensity of the fan reaction to Jorja's exit?
Mendelsohn: It has been astounding. It's incredible how creative our fans are. We got two cases of chocolate covered insects with the message "CSI without Sara bugs us." We got a bouquet of red, pink and white balloons with Hershey kisses and the message was, "Don't break our hearts, keep Jorja Fox on CSI." We got two large cases of Lifesavers with the message, "You were Sara's lifesaver, now be ours, keep Jorja Fox on CSI." They've been sending money in from all over the world [as part of the] Dollars for Sense campaign. One woman named Kim West from Northern Ireland, she and her friends sent in 60 pound notes, and she wrote a four page letter. It's just been overwhelming how many people love Jorja.

Did you go back to her and beg her to reconsider?
Mendelsohn: I had done everything that I could. But in the end, I respect Jorja. This is something that she wanted to do, and I would never stand in her way. She's coming back at some point anyway.

How long before Grissom is ready to move on?
Mendelsohn: Oh my God. I don't think that Gil Grissom is the kind of guy that moves on quickly. I was thinking about how Gil Grissom thinks about time, and there's an Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore, who said, "The butterfly counts not months, but moments." I think Grissom thinks about time that way. I wouldn't count on Gil Grissom moving on.

What about a little fling here and there?
Mendelsohn: Well, you know, gosh, I don't think of Grissom as a flingy kind of guy. Of course, there is Lady Heather... Grissom's family is the team, and moving forward, you know, that's what Grissom will focus on. His team. His family.

Speaking of Lady Heather, will she be back this season?
Mendelsohn: You know what? We haven't really talked about it. [But the door is] always open. We love Melinda Clarke.

What can you tell me about tonight's episode — specifically the marriage proposal?
Mendelsohn: It's very CSI-style. David Rambo wrote the scene and he and Jackie Hoyt wrote the episode. We have been talking for months about how to do this. And, originally at the beginning of the season, we had a plan to take Grissom and Sara back to San Francisco, because, as we all know, that's where they first met. And then last week, Grissom found this beehive and it just occurred to us what the scene should be, and I love it. I love it. And again, there are many, many more scenes between them in the last few episodes and they're all terrific.

"Chain Reaction"...

Horatio and his team must investigate a series of events that might all lead back to a single man.

According to CSI Files sources, "Chain Reaction" begins early in the morning before a fashion show. The designer, Gavin Hauer, is debuting his new line in front of the most rich and beautiful people in Miami. The runway appears to be nothing but an expanse of water, glowing with lights.

Alisha Reilly, one of the models in the runway show, takes the stage beneath the lights, walking down the water-covered runway. Unexpectedly, something goes wrong and Alisha is electrocuted by the lights. Horatio and Tripp talk to Gavin, but he insists that he would not sabotage his own fashion show to kill Alisha. He tries to tell them that he is sorry for her death but that the show must go on. He needs to get the stage taken apart and ready to load onto a plane heading to Paris for another show. When he gets frustrated with the insinuation that he might have been responsible for Alisha's murder, Gavin tells them to talk to Terrence Day, the lighting director.

Calleigh speaks to Terrence and learns that Gavin was too cheap to hire a crew. Instead, it was up to Terrence to take care of every detail with the stage. For this reason, he insists that there was no way that Alisha could have gotten electrocuted. He tells Calleigh that he put ground fault interrupters on all of the lights. If one of the lights shorted out, the interrupter would have cut off the circuit. He is adamant that the stage could not have electrocuted Alisha, and that he did not kill her, but Calleigh doesn't take his word for it.

The CSIs discover strands of hair from a neon blue wig beneath the stage. Because each model wore a wig matching the color of the lights that shone as they walked down the runway, Calleigh and Ryan are able to figure out that the wig belonged to Julianna Perez. Calleigh brings her in for questioning, but Julianna says that she wasn't under the stage to sabotage Alisha--she was there with Terrence Day. Lighting is important, she explains. She fooled around with Terrence because she wanted to make sure that she looked good when she was on the runway. Calleigh suggests that their victim might have been involved with Terrence as well, but Julianna says that Alisha was in a relationship and wouldn't have been messing around.

As the CSI team digs deeper into the mystery surrounding Alisha's death, they begin to find connections to Joe LeBrock, the man responsible for the kidnapping of Horatio's son Kyle in "Inside Out". Not coincidentally, things become more complicated when a bomb explodes, killing a man and making it look like Kyle may be responsible. With Kyle's hearing scheduled for later on in the day, Horatio has no time to waste figuring out who is setting his son up. Kyle needs him, and the team is several steps behind the criminals.

Jorja Fox Leaving...

CSI's Jorja Fox — the 39-year-old actress whose tenure on TV's No. 1 drama almost ended in 2004 when she was temporarily fired during tense contract negotiations — has quit the show. She wrapped production on the drama last week. Fox told EW.com exclusively that her decision to give up the role of Sara Sidle had nothing to do with money and everything to with wanting a break from the commitment of a weekly television series.

"There are all these things I want to do. Some are personal. Some are professional. And I really need to do some of them before I get too old," explains Fox. "If I thought the show were on its last legs, I would have tried harder to stay the course. But I feel like its going to be around for a while, so if I don’t want some of those dreams to pass me by. I have to get off the ride for a while."

Fox said CBS had invited her back for an eighth season (her contract expired in May) but she was only interested in signing on for a limited number of episodes. She'll appear in five more this season — her last in mid-November — before saying goodbye to TV's top-rated drama. For more on EW.com's exclusive interview with Fox, check back on Wednesday.

CSUN temporarily became West Las Vegas University last Thursday, as the cast and crew of the TV show "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" came to campus to film the seventh episode of its eighth season. Key Set Production Assistant Kenny Hanson said the episode's title is "Goodbye and Goodnight," though not too many details about the episode's plot could be revealed, as the episode was being filmed on the same night that the second episode of the season aired on CBS.

Scenes filmed on campus involved series regular Jorja Fox, who plays Crime Scene Investigator Sara Sidle, and guest star Juliette Goglia, who'll be reprising her role as Hannah West, a 12-year-old genius introduced in the sixth season episode, "The Unusual Suspect."

Filmed on the quad outside of Eucalyptus Hall, the crime scene features Sidle speaking with West and showing her photograph. Sidle's words and the photograph provoke West, who becomes upset and starts crying and shouting at her.

The scene was filmed outside in the breezeway between Sierra Hall and Sierra Tower, which appear as WLVU's dormitories in the episode.

Catherine Willows, played by Marg Helgenberger, another investigator on Sidle's team -->(most probably Ronnie Lake-Jessica Lucas), along with Captain Brass, played by Paul Guilfoyle, and Nick Stokes, played by George Eads, investigate the death of a girl who appears to have fallen from one of the upper dormitory rooms.

The title of this episode has been "Hello, Goodbye", "Goodbye and Hello", and now it's "Goodbye and Goodnight"

"Family Portrait"...

This episode opens at the goodbye party of Kate Lambert, a wealthy 35 year old who is leaving for a long European vacation with her husband Dennis, their two children and a nanny, on the expensive yacht that Dennis has bought. They are a couple who live a life of excess, wealthy friends, parties, and beautiful young nannies caring for their two children, Ethan and Hannah.

Daughter Hannah enters the party and gets the attention of her parents when they realise she is leaving bloody footprints as she walks. They got upstairs to find that one of the nannies, Vanessa, has been stabbed to death.

Calleigh and Delko are processing the scene. They notice that Vanessa appears to have packed all of her things, hardly the packing you would do for a vacation. They think she must have been leaving for good. Kate admits that she had fired Vanessa, because her daughter was becoming too attached to her. She says that she wasn’t capable of being a great Mother, which was why she hired nannies, but she didn’t want to be irrelevant either.

Ryan and Natalia are back in the lab processing evidence from the scene. Ryan mentions that Natalia is spending a lot of time at the gun range.

Back at the crime scene Horatio interviews Matthew, an ex boyfriend of Vanessa’s. He had run into her on the day she died, he’s a chef and was catering the party. Horatio asks where his knives are and as he is showing them to Horatio, Kate interrupts the conversation to say that the couple have also been robbed of $250,000. The CSI’s now think that Vanessa may have died because of the robbery.

Continuing the investigation they discover that Kate had installed a nanny cam in their home, without telling her husband. She had video of Dennis and Vanessa together in the bathroom, but instead of having an affair he claims that Vanessa had told him that Ethan was gay. He had been in love with their previous nanny Craig, so Dennis had fired him.

Back at the lab, Alexx finds Ryan to tell him the tox results, they show that Vanessa had also been poisoned before being stabbed. As Mia (the second nanny) had cooked breakfast that morning the CSI’s bring her in. Horatio and Ryan interview her, she says that she wanted to make Vanessa sick, but didn’t kill her. Mia had thought that if Vanessa was sick then she wouldn’t be able to go on the vacation, and she would get to go herself.

Meanwhile, Delko and Calleigh discover a knife similar to the one that killed Vanessa, in Ethan’s bedroom.
